Transportation

Monterey is located approximately 130 miles/210 kilometers south of San Francisco and 350 miles/560 kilometers north of Los Angeles. Airports in both cities have multiple daily flights to the Monterey Airport, which is less than 5 miles/8 kilometers from campus. Taxicabs meet every flight and will deliver you and your baggage to the Institute or to your hotel for approximately $13, plus tip. We encourage you to fly into the Monterey Airport, if at all possible. San Jose is located 85 miles/140 kilometers north of Monterey, and its’ airport is increasingly used by our students. Ground transportation is available to Monterey from both the San Francisco and San Jose airports via the Monterey/Salinas Airbus (phone: 831.883.2871; web: http://www.montereyairbus.com). Reservations recommended. Current one-way cost to Monterey is $35 from either San Jose or San Francisco.
