The weather in Monterey varies significantly depending upon the time of year and the area visited. The average temperature at the coast is 57°F (14°C). The time between November and April is characterized by rain, the summer by fog, and early autumn is the sunniest season in Monterey.
We recommend dressing in layers because of the variation in climate. Generally, light- to medium-weight clothing is appropriate, but jackets and raincoats are a good idea in winter.
